Steady State Success

How to cultivate consistency in EVERYTHING without feeling overwhelmed.

So, tell me if this sounds familiar?

You embark on a new side hustle that you hope to turn into a real business. During those first few weeks your drive and determination are high and you’re clicking on all cylinders. You get some early wins, and it feels great.

Then the going gets tough…you run into your first roadblock. You thought you had it all figured out and it was just a matter of executing. Suddenly you realize: “you don’t know, what you don’t know.”

As you look ahead in your mind’s eye, you see nothing but more roadblocks. Doubts about whether or not you should continue start to creep into your mind.

Then BOOM...a miracle!

You see a YouTube ad of a “guru” talking about “How you can make money online, with no real effort on your part, and no experience. All you need is a smart phone and Wi-Fi.”

You click that link, and the vicious cycle repeats itself.

As someone who’s been a victim of "shiny object syndrome" far more than I care to admit, I figured it was time to talk about the gorilla glue of life and how you get some if you want to progress with your personal development and business.

What is the gorilla glue of life that holds EVERYTHING together? It’s consistency

In this week's newsletter you'll learn how to:

  • start an exercise and diet routine that you can stick with

  • cultivate the habits that lead to high levels of consistency in life and in business

  • implement a simple & consistent marketing plan for a digital product

As always, let’s get down to the nitty gritty!

HEALTH – Great Habits = Great Health

As entrepreneurs, we push our minds to the limit. But what about our bodies?

Fueling your body correctly is non-negotiable for peak performance.

Let’s cut to the chase. Everyone knows that great health is a byproduct of great habits. But acquiring those good habits and sticking to them is easier said than done.

So, let’s make this so easy, a caveman could do it (those GEICO commercials were the best).

We’ve all heard of the 80/20 Rule. Well, there is a healthcare edition of it. The general consensus is that 80% of your health results from your diet while only 20% results from exercise.

That’s why for this week’s health topic we’ll be discussing:

  • Which food you should prioritize in your diet to enhance energy and focus.

  • A blueprint for a consistent meal plan that you can actually stick with.

You Are What You Eat

Now that we’ve established that our focal point should be a consistent healthy diet, let’s go over the 9 foods you should be eating to keep your mind and body in tip-top shape.

We’ll focus on foods that do not cause spikes in blood glucose levels leading to insulin resistance since approximately 60-70 million Americans suffer from the negative effects of elevated glucose levels.

By stabilizing your blood sugar levels, you'll experience sustained energy throughout the day, allowing you to tackle challenges with greater clarity and focus.

Your Blueprint for a Consistent Meal Plan

Most people want to improve their diets but finding a meal plan they can actually stick to can be a challenge. If you’re like me, most meal plans are hard to stick to because I get tired of eating the same foods every day, so I eventually fall off of the wagon.

Below is a meal plan that’s not only healthy but diverse enough to where adherence shouldn’t be an issue. You’ll also find links for easy-to-follow recipes that will help you meal prep in advance or prepare meals day-to-day in 50 minutes or less.

PSYCHOLOGY – Habit Pathways to Personal Evolution

In today's fast-paced digital world, maintaining consistency can make us feel like Sisyphus doomed by the gods to push a boulder uphill for an eternity.

Ever mounting rock-like distractions are everywhere, weighing on our focus and hindering our progress.

In an age where attention is the new oil, how do you minimize distractions so you can develop the consistency needed for business growth and your own personal development?

You cultivate the right habits.

Let’s discuss 3 key habits you need to develop to make consistent progress in, well, EVERYTHING.

The Holy Trifecta of Habits

Consistency isn’t born overnight. It’s the quiet, steadfast force that propels us toward sustainable growth. True consistency comes from cultivating habits that seem almost counterintuitive at first, but over time, they become the backbone of your daily routine.

Here are 3 unique habits you should adopt to achieve holistic success and drive your business and life forward:

  1. Micro-Meditative Moments

Rather than a full-blown meditation session, micro-meditative moments are brief, intentional pauses lasting as little as 60 seconds spread throughout the day. Quieting the mind during micro-meditative moments stimulates creativity by allowing new ideas and neural connections to emerge. These quick resets can lead to innovative solutions during business roadblocks or creative slumps.

  1. Digital Decluttering Rituals

In our hyper-connected world, disruptive notifications are beyond just a nuisance; they prevent us from achieving a flow state of consistency.

Instead of merely limiting screen time, create a habit of digital decluttering. Spend 15-20 minutes at the end of each week clearing your inbox, organizing your files, or removing your presence from non-essential social media channels altogether. By keeping a clean digital space, you’re setting the stage for consistent productivity, reduced mental fatigue, and a clearer focus on your business goals.

  2. Project-Driven Learning Bursts

True growth comes from continued learning, but that doesn’t mean you should binge-watch tutorials or attend long seminars. Instead, focus on short learning bursts which are directly connected to a project that impacts your business or an area of emphasis for your personal development.

Whether it’s reading a chapter of a book, watching a TED Talk, or exploring a new skill on a learning platform, these project-driven learning bursts keep your mind agile and continuously evolving.

Making These Habits a Way of Life

Adopting these 3 habits requires a mindset shift and practical adjustments to your daily routine. Here’s how you can go about making these necessary changes.

  • Start Small
Embrace the principle of tiny changes. Begin for example by incorporating one micro-meditative moment per day. Avoid overwhelming yourself by trying to change everything at once.

  • Set Specific Triggers
Identify clear cues in your environment that remind you to practice these habits. For instance, schedule a reminder on your phone for your digital decluttering ritual or place a sticky note by your computer to prompt a project-driven learning burst.

You can also tie new habits to existing routines (e.g., drinking water after exercising). Pre-plan when, where, and how you'll perform each habit to reduce decision fatigue and increase adherence.

  • Leverage Accountability
Share your habit-building journey with a mentor or peer. Consistent check-ins and mutual support can help you stay on track. Whether it’s through a morning call or an end-of-day recap, external accountability is a proven catalyst for habit formation.

What if you don’t have a mentor or peer to hold you accountable? Use the “Never Miss Twice” rule. Adopt the mindset that missing a habit once is acceptable, but missing it twice creates a negative pattern. This approach helps you quickly recover from setbacks and maintain momentum.

  • Reflect and Adjust
Dedicate 30 minutes to 1 hour each week to reviewing your progress. Analyze what worked, identify obstacles, and adjust your plans accordingly. This process helps maintain focus and ensures alignment with your long-term goals.

How Long Will This Take?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to habit formation. Research often cites that it takes around 66 days on average to solidify a new habit, but this timeline can vary based on the complexity of the habit and individual circumstances.

For our purposes, consider a 2-3 month period as a realistic window for seeing significant changes.

During this time, stay the course. Each micro-meditative moment, digital declutter, and learning burst builds upon the last, gradually reshaping your routine until these actions become second nature to you.

Remember, your journey to consistency is a marathon, not a sprint. And you will have to cut off bad habits to make room for good ones.

Focus on incremental improvements, celebrate small victories, and remain patient with the process. Over time, these unique habits will form a framework that not only aids in your personal evolution but also drives your business forward with unparalleled clarity and purpose.

BUSINESSLaunchpad: Your First Offer's Marketing Flight Plan

In last week's newsletter, we covered how to find winning offer ideas based on what’s already selling in the digital marketplace. If you missed last week’s newsletter, and you don’t have an offer ready to market, I recommend reading the business section of that newsletter to help you create your offer.

This week, I want to focus on how to market your new offer. Keep in mind, we didn’t try to reinvent the wheel to create our offer, so we won’t be doing that for our marketing either.

There are only 2 ways to market anything:

  1. Cold Outreach

Cold outreach involves contacting potential customers who have no prior interaction with your business or product. This strategy is often used to generate leads by sending emails, making phone calls (cold calling), messaging on social media platforms (cold DMing), or paid ads. It requires a clear understanding of your target audience and crafting personalized messages to capture their interest.

  1. Warm Outreach

Warm outreach targets prospects who have previously interacted with your business or shown interest in your offer. These connections may stem from referrals, past conversations, or engagement with your website or social media (content marketing). Warm outreach leverages familiarity to achieve higher response rates and shorter sales cycles.

For your first offer, warm outreach through content marketing is the way to go.

Cold outreach often requires complex systems that new creators may not have in place yet.

As the saying goes, "You have to walk before you can run." So, let’s dive into how to use content marketing to generate sales for your new offer.

Content Marketing: How to Identify What Works

Last week, we used an herbal medicine course as an example of a digital asset.

So, how do we market it?

First, I would identify the health issues people have that might lead them to seek alternatives to prescription medications. People whose health hasn't improved with traditional treatments often look for other solutions.

That’s where my content comes in to guide them to the solution they’re looking for – my herbal medicine course.

Here are the 2 steps you’ll need to take to provide solution-based content:

  1. Use Perplexity.ai or ChatGPT to identify the top questions people have that you’ll be providing a solution for with your offer. Perplexity has an advantage over ChatGPT because it provides the resources for all of its information.

Below are examples of how I used Perplexity to drill down on what questions people are asking about herbal medicine.

To view the chart that Perplexity created click here.

  1. Search for content creators on YouTube and TikTok with content similar to your offer. Look at the comments on their top videos to see what questions people ask. Write these down. You'll answer them in your content.

After these steps, you’ll need to decide which platform would be best for distributing your content based on the format you chose i.e. text with images or video. I would suggest posting to only one platform starting out so you don’t stretch yourself too thin and get burned out.

Where to Post: Why TikTok is the Best of All Worlds

TikTok is the best platform for new content creators seeking growth. Let me make the case for why.

Here are my top 3 reasons TikTok should be your go-to platform as a new content creator:

  1. Discoverability

TikTok’s algorithm is highly customized to the viewing tastes of each individual. If your TikTok is being shown to someone, it’s almost a guarantee they’re interested in the topic of your content. Also, relevant hashtags do still help increase discoverability on TikTok as opposed to other platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn where getting exposure is much more difficult and adding hashtags doesn't seem to make it any easier. While discoverability is good on YouTube, it’s a distant second compared to TikTok.

  1. Versatility of Content

While TikTok at first glance seems to be a platform for short-form video content, there is actually quite a bit of text with image content. This is perfect for new content creators who are crunched for time. I’ve seen TikToks get thousands, if not tens of thousands of views with just a carousel of engaging written content coupled with a great image and some background music.

  1. AI Content is not Discouraged

TikTok does not seem to be partial towards well-created AI videos if they are engaging  and helpful.

To create short-form AI videos that you can easily post to TikTok, check out this 2-minute video tutorial by Fliki.ai. Fliki offers a free-trial period and is $21/month afterwards if paid annually. With Fliki’s standard plan you get quite the bang for your buck but you will have to invest more time using the app.

On the other hand, a more hands-off AI video app is InVideo AI. With InVideo, you just provide the prompt for your video content and its educational video maker will write the script, generate AI visuals, add a voiceover (or a clone of your voice), add subtitles, and add music. InVideo AI does have a free plan but the features are very limited. InVideo’s plus plan is $28/month (if paid annually). While it doesn’t offer as much video creation time as Fliki, it will not be as time intensive once you’ve learned how to optimally use the app.

Posting on TikTok: How Often & When?

Starting out, it is recommended that you post 3-4 times a week on TikTok as you build up your momentum.

Once you’ve started to gain some traction, posting one engaging, valuable post per day is optimal.

Set aside 3 hours per week to batch-record multiple videos in one session to save time and maintain consistency. Save them as drafts and post at the optimal viewing times for TikTok.

So, when are the best times to post on TikTok?

The peak times (in Eastern Time) for getting TikTok views are as follows:

  • Monday: 9-11 PM

  • Tuesday: 8-10 AM

  • Wednesday: 6-8 AM

  • Thursday: 7-9 PM

  • Friday: 2-4 PM

  • Saturday: 10-12 PM

  • Sunday: 7-8 AM and 4 PM

Hosting Your Digital Asset and Getting Paid

There are 2 options I would recommend for hosting your digital asset. They are Stan Store and Whop. Below is a chart that provides a side-by-side comparison of Stan Store versus Whop so you can decide which is right for you.

Platform

Benefits

Pros

Cons

Stan Store

Sell digital products like courses, e-books, memberships, and virtual meetings

Polished interface optimized for TikTok/Instagram

Monthly subscription fee

Professional storefront, integrates well with social media

User-friendly setup

Limited customization compared to Whop

Link-in-bio functionality

Whop

-Sell digital products like courses, e-books, memberships, and virtual meetings

-community building features i.e. live streaming

No upfront costs, 3% transaction fee

Less polished storefront than Stan Store

My takeaways regarding Stan Store and Whop are:

  • Stan Store is ideal if you want a polished storefront and seamless integration with TikTok for link-in-bio functionality.

  • Whop is better if you're looking for flexibility, lower costs (no subscription fees), and the ability to sell diverse types of digital assets while maximizing earnings. Whop also has 5 million weekly visitors who can find your Whop organically using the platform’s search engine.

  • Both platforms support adding links to TikTok bios, but you will need a TikTok Business Account with over 1,000 followers or you need to register your business to make the link clickable.

Now you’re ready to start making money!

If you consistently post valuable content using the methods and tools just outlined for at least 100 days, I can almost guarantee (and so can Alex Hormozi) you’ll get at least one sale, if not many more!
